Festive Events In Washington State This Holiday Season
Updated: Mar 15, 2021
Another year has come and gone, and with the winter season comes a time to get together with the family and enjoy the holiday festivities in your neighborhood. With so many holiday events happening each year from tree lighting to festivals to dozens of limited edition holiday beers to try, it’s hard to pick which ones to do. Tree lighting events, Christmas markets, holiday beer and more; all things we want to get to every year but the holiday is so short and there never seems to be enough time to get to them all.
If you haven't been out yet this year to any holiday festivities, tree lighting festivals are a great way to kick-off the season.

If you’re looking for something a little warmer indoors, there are some great events happening later in the month. A Wreath Making + Wine Tasting event is taking place in Woodinville, WA on December 15th at Beaumont Cellars. Four different wines will be sampled throughout the night while you make a holiday wreath. This is a 21+ event.
MAGNUSON PARK, WA
The Winter Solstice Night Market on December 20th and 21st is a great indoor family-friendly event with art vendors, live music, food and with an optional ticket the Winter Solstice Beer Fest will also be happening with samples from 30 breweries!
EMERALD DOWNS, WA
To end the year with a celebration, the New Year’s Eve Party in the clubhouse Casino is a 21+ event that starts at 9:00 pm and will take you back to the ’70s with the Sonic Funk Orchestra’ disco-dance party music. A free champagne toast at midnight is also included.
Throughout the month, there are also many activities to keep the holiday feeling festive for you and your family and friends.
From now until December 23rd, the Cougar Mountain Zoo is decorated like the north pole to welcome Santa and his reindeer during the Issaquah reindeer festival. The festival comes back for a short time right after Christmas from December 26th to 30th to catch Santa before he heads home.
The winter Glow spectacular in Orchard Park in Liberty Lake is a 40 daylight show coming together for its sixth year. Perfect for the whole family, the winter glow spectacular is set up with dozens of displays including animation and music, and did we mention it’s free.
If you want to try something new that will excite your taste buds, the Jolly Roger Christmas Ale by Maritime Pacific Brewing and Bellevue Brewing’s Winter Ale are some holiday beers just to name a few that are only around for a limited time. Boundary Bay Brewery also has several limited release blends they sell throughout different times of the year, some of which are dedicated to the holiday season we are in now.
Whether you choose to go for wreath making and wine tasting alone or bring family and friends to a Christmas lighting festival, plan to explore new events and cities in Washington this holiday season. This is a great time to see the state and the things it’s capable of showcasing.
